My name is Ludovic and I have been single-handed sailing SCOLA for 5 years. Living aboard typically from November to May each year, cruising the Bahamas and the Caribbean from Dominican Republic to the Grenadines. During the summer SCOLA is tied down in dry storage at the Puerto del Rey Marina. It is here that you can visit SCOLA. This abstract of the 2004 Manta Catamaran newsletter contains my experience with the Manta 40. Click on the image to enlarge the abstract.
Manta 40 Hull #24 Manta 40 Hull #31
Manta 40 #24 "Catalyst" Owners: Rob & Sue Linehan Cruising "We love our Manta because it is so safe, so easy, so comfortable, and so company friendly."
Manta 40 #31 "BobCat" Owners: Bob & Midge Gray Cruising destinations: Bahamas and East Coast US "The Manta's solid construction and rig proved itself to us when we were caught of Cape Hatteras in 42-knot winds and 18-ft. confused seas. It's perfect for a cruising couple, plenty big enough even with company aboard, yet easily docked at most marinas."
Manta 40 #34 "Calico Paws" Owners: Hans & Ursula Mueller Cruising destinations: Bahamas, Mexico "We bought the Manta because it offered everything we need as a cruising couple and more."
Manta 40 #40 " Cavu" Owners: Rob & Debbie Morgan Cruising "Great design for a cruising couple, last five years have been the best of our lives"
Manta 40 #42 "Pangaea" Owners: Gene Ferris & Marcia Mason Cruising history: Bahamas, Mexico, Belize, Honduras "After five years we are still in love with our Manta, with 95 years to go on our original cruise plan."
Manta 40 #47 "Shadowfax" Owners: Harry & Sandy Vreeland Cruising destinations: East Coast U.S., Bahamas "We studied production and custom catamaran designs for four years before buying our Manta, and after four and one half years of ownership, we are absolutely convinced we made the right decision."
Manta 40 #48 " DouBll" Owner: Doug Barton Cruising destinations: East Coast U.S., Gulf of Mexico, Bahamas "The only thing better than my first Manta was my second one."
